For the first time since the creation of the association in 1998, the CVA Council of Mayors was held by videoconference due to the current Covid-19 sanitary rules.
It was also a premiere for Stéphane Delpeyrat, 2020-2021 CVA Vice-President Delegate, Vice-President of Bordeaux Métropole and Mayor of Saint-Médard-en-Jalles. Within the framework of the 2020 CVA Bordeaux presidency, he chaired the council alongside Antoinette Pedron, 2020-21 CVA Secretary General and Jean-Sébastien Lemay, General Delegate.
The CVA members were thus able to meet virtually on 4 December and contributed to the smooth running of this Council of Mayors.
Many topics were addressed, such as :
- the association’s activities in 2020 and the impact of the Covid-19 crisis;
- the extension of the 2020 CVA presidency to the year 2021, the shifting of the CVA Colleferro presidency to 2022 as well as the allocation of the 2023 CVA presidency to Vernon;
- the new programme of events and actions planned by CVA and Bordeaux Métropole for 2021;
- the presentation of the new communication measures of the association, the financial report for 2020 and its budget projection for 2021.
This virtual gathering did not prevent the convivial and institutional nature of the event, which twice a year enables cooperation between the Ariane Cities and its industries, while setting out the actions to be carried out by the association to increase the visibility of the space transportation sector in Europe.
