On 8 October, the City of Liège, in collaboration with Spray Can Arts and the Community of Ariane Cities (CVA), celebrated World Space Week with an extraordinary mural dedicated to Europe’s independent access to space!
This striking artwork, designed by Michael Nikolaï with the help of artists Soke and Blancbec, brings Ariane 6 and Vega C, Europe’s proud launchers, to life in the heart of Liège. The mural invites everyone—residents and visitors alike—to dive into the exciting world of space technology.
During the inauguration, Liège Mayor Willy Demeyer expressed his gratitude to the CVA for its continuous support, emphasizing how the city’s long-standing membership in the CVA network, since 2001, strengthens connections between cities, industries, and universities in the aerospace sector. Also present were Mr Mehmet Aydogdu, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Intercultural Affairs, and Mr Jérôme d’Agruma, Managing Director of BEBLUE Cryotech. The CVA was proudly represented by its Treasurer Brigitte De Deyne.
This mural marks the intersection of art and technology, a celebration of innovation that will inspire generations to come. If you want to see this incredible artwork, head to Rue Valdor 5, Liège!
