The inauguration of the 2016 CVA Presidency, with a small space exhibition, took place on 16 January in the “Buchsbachtalhalle” sports hall and started with a press conference at which the incoming CVA President, Harry Brunnet, Mayor of Hardthausen am Kocher, Baden Württemberg, together with his Presidency team, Vice-President Klaus Schäfer (Deputy Director of DLR Lampoldshausen) and General Secretary Josef Köcher (Head of Establishment Airbus DS Lampoldshausen), gave an overview of the Presidency programme, in the presence of CVA General Delegate Marc Toussaint and ESA astronaut Reinhold Ewald.
After Harry Brunnet’s welcome address to the guests, who numbered about 200, Marc Toussaint, on behalf of the Mayor of Kourou, formally handed over the 2016 CVA Presidency to Hardthausen am Kocher and the Forum Ariane Lampoldshausen.
The programme included speeches and presentations by three high-level participants: the Interior Minister of Baden-Württemberg Reinhold Gall, the ESA Director General Johann-Dietrich Wörner and ESA astronaut Reinhold Ewald.
Harry Brunnet and his Presidency team concluded with an in-depth presentation of the 2016 CVA Presidency programme (original version attached below), a programme consisting of a variety of events, exhibitions and educational activities promoting space transportation and applications in Europe.
