Graduation and awards 2023

Tears of joy, applause, laughter, pride, emotional speeches combining humour and earnestness… these were the ingredients of the traditional Graduation Ceremony and Proclamation of Prizes of the Athénée communal Léonie de Waha, which took place on 5 July 2023 at the Trocadéro, a Parisian-style venue in Liège.

Thanks to the excellent collaboration with the Communauté des Villes Ariane, ArianeGroup and Arianespace, two scientific prizes were awarded: the “Scientific Criticism Prize” to Mr Mehak Qayyum and the “Scientific Curiosity Prize” to Ms Amélie Deweryhas.

On a day marked by the last launch of an Ariane 5, Brigitte De Deyne, Treasurer of the CVA, offered both youngsters whom a bright future awaits with a mock-up Ariane 6, the symbol of Europe’s future in space, as well as books evoking the space epic.
